what's on?

day one

friday

LOUD NOISES

Loud Noises bridge the gap between contemporary brass music and high octane dance. Blurring the line between band and audience, Loud Noises seriously bring the party and might be the most interactive and engaging band in Britain.

Ryan Taylor BAND

Ryan’s funky 4 piece hail from Sheffield and will be bringing their crowd-pleasing blend of original funk and neo soul, dropping a mix of original material and covers with sounds from Jamiroquai to James Brown.

Hyde Family Jam

“Folk gone wrong” At first glance you might expect these guys to be a tradional folk band but you couldn’t be further from the truth. The reality is more of a bonkers, turbo-fuelled barn dance of crazy cover versions from all genres. They play fast and loud and are nailed-on, pure entertainment!

rave in a field

Seeing us through sundown and into the night DJ Hopie will be spinning dance classics, old school house and rave anthems. Groove Armada to Orbital, Underworld to K-Klass, Basement Jaxx to The Prodigy…. We’re going to party like it’s 1999!

joe & Fred

Kicking off our live schedule for Friday is singer / songwriter Joe with supporting vocals from Fred Ro bringing an acoustic set of grunge influenced original material in an Eddie Vedder style.

gee dog

We couldn’t have Hopestock without the big fella playing, gracing the stage for the 3rd time! Performing as a duet this year with the lovely Ellie on cello.

kids activities

Loads of fun lined up for small people including drop-in circus skills workshop, face painting, slime making, glitter art, kids movie screenings & bouncy castle!

day two

SATURDAY

Intergalactic Brasstronauts

12-piece supergroup featuring members of Bad Manners, East Park Reggae Collective, The Hallé Orchestra and Glastonbury regulars, New York Brass Band. A nailed-on festival highlight in the making, their explosive and unique live show blends ska pressure, dub and global rhythms with some seriously heavy brass.

“Infectious and seriously funky”
(James Morrison, BBC Radio 2)

“Perfect”
(Craig Charles, BBC 6 Music)

SÖNS Of RÖBIN

Bringing some good old rock ‘n’ roll to the Saturday line up are Sons Of Robin. These guys are proper musicians and always put on a right show with an eclectic mix of covers spanning everything from Electric 6 to Prince plus their infamous Queen and Bowie medleys.

Will Cassette Jam (DJ set)

DJ / Producer / Remixer duo Cassette Jam exploded onto the Global Dance Scene after Winning the Cream International Search for a DJ Competition in 2006. Through the late 00s and early 10s they played all over the world at some of the biggest clubs and festivals alongside residencies at Cream Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks, The Dirty Disco and Chibuku Shake Shake. They also enjoyed regular radio coverage on Radio 1 & 6, Kiss FM, Galaxy and MTV Dance.

Will will be hitting the decks for us for a DJ set on Saturday!

NIRVANA NIGHT

We all love Nirvana right? And how great is the MTV Unplugged in New York album? A stone cold classic! Well the good news is, we have the highly rated musicians who make up Nirvana Night joining us on Saturday afternoon to perform it.

“Where do bad folks go when they diiiiiie…..?”

MAJESTY

Bringing all the summer vibes are the amazing Majesty. Fronted by the raw soulful vocals of Hayley Gaftarnick, a stone cold legend of the Leeds live music scene, they bring an infectious blend of roots / reggae / soul! Expect a blend of inventive covers and originals.

FLASH CASSETTE

Bringing electronic disco and synth-funk vibes with with a heavy retro 70s/80s influence, inspired by the likes of Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder and Dam Funk.

LEEDS LEGENDS DJ PARTY

We have the cream of the crop of the DJs from Leeds’ bar and club scene over the past 20 years. Expect party classics: funk, soul, 80s, reggae, rock, hip hop, disco and more.

gav dickson

Getting the live schedule rolling on Saturday is local troubador Gav playing a mix of covers and original folky material with sounds from Dylan & Neil Young to Johnny Cash & Richie Havens.

cocktail masterclass

Rolling Social, the team behind The Leeds Rum, Whisky and Tequila Festivals held at the Corn Exchange will be running a ‘Cocktail 101’ masterclass on Saturday. Hosted by the legendary Lee Jones, participants will be shown how to make one classic cocktail and then get to have a go at creating a twist of their own. With no experience required (but equally fine if you’re an expert!), the class promises to be great fun and is included in the price of your all-inclusive booze wristband.

kids DISCO

Make sure your beloved ankle biters are present and correct on Saturday afternoon when queen of the high kicks,  Craigy takes over the controls in the kids tent. She’ll be bringing fun and games alongside some cheesy bangers and play school jams for anyone with a bottomless appetite for snacks to let (it) go and shake some moves to.
